This illustration by "Egor Klyuchnyk" | UA Illustrator is dedicated to a successful military operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against a hostile Russian anti-missile defense aircraft. The Beriev A-50 (NATO reporting name: Mainstay) is a Soviet airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft based on the Ilyushin Il-76 transport. It was shot down over the Sea of Azov at about 21:10-21:15 local time on 14 January 2024. Now this A-50 has joined the Moscow cruiser at the bottom of the sea.
