The unicorn is a mythical creature which has been described as a beast with a single big, pointed, spiraling horn projected from its forehead since the antiquity.

The unicorn was depicted in ancient seals of the Indus Valley Civilization and was described by numerous authors, including Ctesias, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, Aelian and Cosmas Indicopleustes, in accounts of natural history by ancient Greeks. The Bible also describes an animal, the re'em which is translated as unicorn by some versions.
